Welcome to DL4RAD

The fields of artificial intelligence and machine learning have witnessed a tremendous leap in interest from the healthcare industry over the past few years, largely due to the large medical information datasets brought on by the worldwide transition to electronic health records.

Diagnostic Imaging, in particular, demonstrated huge potential for the applications of machine learning to owe to the readily available vast amount of digital information after the transition to digital imaging as well as the development of machine learning techniques, particularly Deep Learning, that proved to be robust in image analysis and classification.

While there are a lot of tutorials, articles, and books that address computer scientists, programmers and people who are interested in learning deep learning, there is still lack in resources dedicated primarily to help radiologists understand the basics of deep learning and the large spectrum of problems that deep learning can be applied to.

This website is developed with fellow radiologists in mind to provide a quick reference tool and code examples. The website will also include basic explanations as well as basics mathematics. Links to additional resources, reference materials and extra readings will be provided as well.
